As the
days and months passed, something started bothering Ethan and Chris that
neither could put their finger on. At last it dawned on Chris what was missing.
"Eth, have you noticed the lack of Christmas decorations around?"
"Now
that you mention it, yeah," Ethan suddenly snapped his fingers, "That's what's been bothering me. No
Christmas. When Ryan comes home I'll ask him about it.”
Ryan
walked through the door at the tail end of Ethan's statement. "Hey, guys."
Ethan
jumped up and rushed Ryan, practically knocking him down with his exuberant
greeting. "How'd the physical go?"
"I'm
in perfect health and rarin' to go!" Ryan punctuated his statement by waggling
his eyebrows.
"Get
a room, you too!" Chris exclaimed. Ethan burst out laughing at Ryan's
response, which was to raise an eyebrow towards Chris.
Still
giggling, Ethan struggled to explain what Chris meant; the end result being all
three of them laughing like maniacs. Eventually Ethan turned a serious look on
Ryan. "Ry, why aren't there any Christmas decorations anywhere?"
"What
are Christmas decorations?"
Both Ethan
and Chris' faces fell. He didn't know about Christmas. Taking a deep breath,
Ethan began to explain. "Back in my time, Christmas was a very special
time, almost magical. Everybody got along real well and was happy. They put up
special decorations and lights. Some were really beautiful. People would put
evergreen trees in their houses and decorate them with lights, ornaments,
garland and stuff, then put brightly wrapped presents under the tree which
would be opened on Christmas day.
"Ornaments?
Garland? Presents?" Ryan was completely baffled.
"Ornaments
are small trinkets, usually made of very thin glass or wood, that are placed on
the tree. They glass ones are usually in the shape of a ball, star or other
shapes. Sometimes the wooden ones would be like a miniature sled with a little
boy or girl on it. Garland is a string of stuff like flowers, popcorn or other
stuff. Wait a minute. I think I have a picture of our tree." He retrieved
his antiquated communicator from the bedroom and started looking through the
pictures stored on it. Finally selecting one, he showed it to Ryan.
"Hey,
that's pretty cool! I like it. But what are the things under the tree?"
"Presents,"
Chris answered. “They’re things that you buy for people who are in your life
that are important to you. It’s a way of showing your affection and
appreciation to them.”
“That’s a
really great idea. I wonder why it died out.” Ryan mused.
“I think
it was because it was originally a religious holiday, and it became way too
commercialized.” Chris opined.
“Commercialized?”
“Stores
started pushing Christmas in July. I think people just got sick of it and
stopped celebrating it.”
“Okay, so
how do we go about, I think the word you used was ‘decorating’? I don’t know of
any place where you can get decorations like those.”
Ethan and
Chris exchanged looks. “We have an attic full of them. I wonder if going back
and getting them would disrupt the timeline?” Ethan asked.
“Check
with Duncan in the morning. I don’t think retrieving them will cause any
problems.” A huge yawn followed Ryan’s statement, “I’m tired. I’m going to ─
what’s that phrase you used ─ hit the sack.”
“Right
behind you baby.”
Sleep
didn’t come easy for Ethan. He lay in bed for several hours mentally reviewing the
decorations he had and how he would decorate the apartment.
~~~~~
Ethan
knocked on Duncan’s open door. “Ethan. Come in and have a seat. What can I do
for you?”
Ethan
quickly explained the concept of Christmas. “What I would like to do is go back
and get all of my Christmas stuff, but would it alter the timeline?”
“I don’t
think so, Ethan, as long as you don’t interact with anyone. Remember, you and
Chris disappeared without a trace. Go ahead but be careful.”
“I will.
Thanks, Duncan!” Ethan was out of the room in a flash. A half hour later all
four travellators went crazy spitting out box after box. Ethan finally
materialized and was greeted by a sea of faces, all of which were sporting
puzzled looks. “Uh, hi guys. I just went back to my old house and grabbed a few
things.” While he was gone word spread quickly about his plan and he had no
shortage of help getting everything home and the apartment decorated inside and
out.
Ryan came
home from an unplanned mission and looked around the apartment completely
amazed. “This place looks fantastic, baby. You did a wonderful job.”
“I can’t
take all the credit. I had a lot of help from the job.”
“Remind me
to thank everyone.”
~~~~~
An
unknown, yet very pleasant smell caused Ryan to wake up and turn over. Ethan
was standing before him wearing nothing but a ribbon around his neck holding a
tray with two steaming mugs, one of which he was handed. “What is this?”
“It’s an
ancient traditional Christmas drink known as wassail. Try it.”
“Wow. This
is awesome, but not as awesome as what I’m looking at. I take it this is my
present?”
“Yes,” he
said with half-lidded eyes as he removed the covers, revealing a very hard,
naked Ryan. Already prepared, he straddled Ryan’s lap and slowly slid down Ryan’s
weeping erection until he was fully impaled. Up and down he slid, faster and
faster until they both exploded in mind-numbing orgasms.
They lay
together, wrapped in each others’ arms for about a half hour before Ryan jumped
out of bed. “C’mon, we have to get dressed. Adrienne will be here soon with a
present for you and Chris. Go wake him up while I grab a shower.
Adrienne
arrived shortly thereafter. “Guys ready for your present?” Both nodded. She stepped
aside and in walked Alicia, shocking both men.
“So who’s
going to be the first to welcome me to my new home?”
Christmas
is truly magical.
Merry
Christmas!
